The Way It Seems

This is the second part of our history when we were in the junior high school … okay, let’s start. According to Amelia’s idea to conduct a prayer community every Saturday after school, we began our first prayer community that we called ‘PD’ in our language. It stands for ‘Persekutuan Doa’ that has exactly the same meaning as the prayer community. I can not remember clearly how many people who atended this PD. It was approximately 10 people. We only used an acoustic guitar. We praised and worshipped Him. We felt satisfied and pleased because the presence of the Lord was really coming and it truly touched our hearts. It was so relaxed and joyful. Afterwards, we spent our times to share what the Lord has done in our lives and His goodness followed by somebody preaching.

That was how we experienced at the first time and we did it regularly every Saturday until around the fifth week, some people started getting busy and they could not be present at the PD. There were some various reasons why they were not able to come. Therefore, there were only a few people who could conduct the PD, which was only 3 – 4 people.  Because we thought that there was no point to have a prayer community if it was like that, we cancelled it and thought that we could delay it until next week and expected that there would be more people coming. The following week, something the same happened and it was even worse that only 2 people were available. It has happened for 4 weeks and we realized that might not do that. I  talked to my friends and we had a commitment that even if there were only 2 people, we would still conduct the PD. As it is written in Matthew 18:20 ‘For where 2 or 3 come together in My name, there am I with them’ We had to rise up from this situation. We tried to believe what the Bible says and it was proven. We might not put out the Spirit’s fire.

We felt that there was something burning our hearts. It was something that motivated us to save our friends from the hell. It encouraged us to share His love and tell about repentance. Our friends, Andre; he was bound by adultery and besides, he was influenced by negative impact of wordly music. We tried to tell and advice Him but nothing was changed. He could not leave his sins until someday …. He got a dream and it was like an illustration or a vision of his life … What was that? I will be telling you in the third part … be patient, to be continued …
