Well.. I would like to tell you the dream of my friend, Andre which totally changed his life. He dreamt that he was on stairs and he climbed up. On the top of the stairs, there was heaven and hell was on the bottom of the stairs. In addition, when he looked down, he saw some beautiful and sexy girls who invited him to go down and come in. Andre refused it and he tried to go up to reach the heaven. However, he felt that his body was too heavy to get to the heaven and slightly, beyond his control, his body went down to the hell. He gazed that the door of the heaven was steadily closed. He suddenly woke up and he was really afraid …

On the next day, he told me and Johanes about his dream. He said that it was a signal for him to repent now. He commited to leave his bad habits and wanted to believe in Jesus. We were really happy to hear that and we supported him to walk in a new life with the Holy Spirit. He also did not want to listen to the wordly music and changed his collection of cassettes to the christian songs.

We got a quite funny experience when we had a bible camp outside of our city. We stayed in there for 3 days and 2 nights. At the first night, in our room which was occupied by 7 people, I, Noet, Andre, Joshi, William, Hendri, and Yoha, we prayed together. Because we had no guitar with us, we just started by worshipping Him using our tongue language. We were really serious to look for His face and invite His presence to come in but what happened was Andre who was actually from Protestan background, which is not familiar to speak in tongue, he then laughed and even he could not stop it. Ehm … hahaha can you guess what happened next? We could not preserve ourselves not to laugh so we were laughing together. It was really funny. We commited to do it again and ask Andre not to laugh but what we could do. When we worshipped again, he then laughed. Hm… Therefore, we just finished ….

Anyway, we started to form a band. We had complete personell to make a band. In short time, that would be a bazaar in our school and there might have some bands to perform. We registered our band using our name Acts_29 Band. Some people got confused. We had explained the meaning from the beginning to the end to the people who asking including our teacher and you know that it was not a short explanation. Some people who were curious asked the same questions again. Fiuh… never mind… we started practicing and we were all new. We did not have experience before so we were very excited. We chose a rock song which the title is ‘Karna Kau Setia’ (Because You are Faithful) but we changed our minds and we decided to perform the other two songs. The first one is ‘Tempat Pertama’ (The First Place) and the second one is ‘KasihMu Tiada Duanya’ (Your Love is Nothing to Compare). We did very well to be honest and we performed one more song which was ‘Allahku Dahsyat’ (My God is Awesome). Andre gave a rap in the middle of the song and it was extremely wonderful and our drummer played very energetic. Our guitarists used distortion to bring the feeling of rock in our intro for our song, The First Place. Noet demonstrated his skills in playing amazing melodies for the intro of Your Love is Nothing to Compare using progressive chords followed by the beautiful voice of our vocalist, Amelia. How was the bassist? hahaha I will not tell you how my performance was … It is not polite. I want to be nice in this part … hehehe Overall, it was really unbelieveable !!

In our history … There was one of our tragedies that occured between us and surely we can not forget it. It was called ‘Swan Tragedy’ ehm… I apologize that I can not tell you exactly how it was because we agree that it was a really bad experience. In short, we did something that offended one of our friends, Andre when we had Indonesian Language class. He became angry and he broke Stephanus’ pen and book. We were all in trouble but we have forgiven each other. By this case, we learnt how beautiful a friendship is …

I think that it is enough for this section and I will definitely continue this and tell you some more interesting stories…

Wait for the fourth one … God bless you. Yusuf Susanto Gunawan 28/09/2006

Bush is forever saying that democracies do not invade other countries and start wars. Well, he did just that. He invaded Iraq, started a war, and killed people. What do you think? Is killing thousands of innocent civilians okay when you are doing a little government makeover?
Are we safer today than we were before?
The more people that the government puts in jails, the safer we are told to think we are. The real terrorists are wherever they are, but they aren’t living in a country with bars on the windows. We are.
